"California's Deployment of Low Carbon Fuels"
California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard has been controversial since it was signed into law in 2007 but it promises to usher in a new era for transportation fuels in the United States. This presentation will discuss the statewide needs is it intended to accomplish and address the following: What are the hurdles to creating a renewable fuels paradigm? What changes of policy need to be made? What is the most sustainable feedstock for conversion? What new infrastructure will be required for volume production and distribution of biofuels? How will the growth of alternative fuels impact opportunities for engineering jobs in construction and facilities operation?
